World Poetry Slam Champion Rudy Francisco delivers a very powerful performance on embracing the day even when things are not going so well. His passionate plea is to stop complaining about life and remember that you are still alive.
I know at times that things don’t always go to plan or as we would like them to go. It can be hard to rise above the shit (great hash tag #RiseAboveTheShit ) and get swept away in the doldrums of negativity and frustration and forget that you are still alive to be able to do something about it.
In the bigger scheme of things, Rudy reminds us that we don’t have anything to complain about. When what we, you, should be remembering is that you are still alive and that life is a blessing and a gift, and that each day no matter what is thrown in your general direction or how high the shit can stack up, is an opportunity for you to make a choice.
Either you choose to react in a negative way to what is happening and allow it to get you down, or you can choose to… here it comes again – RISE ABOVE THE SHIT 🙂 and say the affirmation I AM STILL ALIVE AND MAKE ALL MY DREAMS AND GOALS A REALITY. YOU are still alive so stop complaining about things and get on with your greater purpose and passion.
Every single person faces challenges where things just do not go the way they want, it’s all part of the process. The only thing that will stop you from overcoming the challenges is your mindset and how you choose to respond to it.
I will finish with Rudy’s ending statement;
Remember, you are still here. The human heart beats approximately 4,000 times per hour and each pulse, each throb, each palpitation is a trophy engraved with the words – ‘You Are Still Alive, YOU ARE STILL ALIVE. Act like it.
