Andy Puddicombe founder of Headspace and author of Get Some Headspace talks about the productiveness of doing nothing and poses the question, “When was the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes?”
In his Ted talk Andy talks about the transformational power, the productiveness of doing nothing and experiencing a refresh reset of your mind for just for 10 minutes each day and being mindful, just by placing yourself in the now, being in the moment of nothingness and in the mindset of the present.
I know myself that this can have a significant effect on your overall productivity, focus of mind and increased concentration, all by doing absolutely nothing for just 10 whole minutes. The strange thing is, that it feels more like 2 minutes when your in that state of now and being mindful.
Oh, just to let you know, there is no need to be sat in the lotus position and burning incense, unless of course you want to. Being sat or lying down in a comfortable position is far more important than following what the Buddhist monks and meditation devotees do. One thing you will begin to realise with the practice of meditation, is that it is a very powerful tool and practice to calm the mind and be in the now.
